EMG and NCV portable

What is a nerve conduction study and what’s an EMG?

NCS also known as ‘Nerve Conduction Velocity’ or NCV is a measurement of the speed of conduction of an electrical impulse through a particular nerve.

EMG is a similar study done at the same time but it monitors the muscular response to nerve stimulation rather than just the conduction speed.

What are the uses of NCS and EMG?

The studies are used in Guillain-Barré syndrome, Carpal tunnel syndrome and patients presenting with sciatic nerve or herniated disc complaints and many other neuromuscular disorders
